Children’s work

The church and its worship is open to all….

At St Dunstan's we have an inclusive approach to church life and seek to embrace and cater for the whole church community young and old. To that end we have a number of important groups and activities specifically focussed on young people and children.

The Creche
During the main Sunday morning Parish Mass children come with their parents to share in the creche. Meeting in the main nave with the rest of the church community it provides an opportunity for children to play and learn alongside other young folk and for the adults who come with them to still participate in the worshipping life of the church.

The Toddlers' Group
For 3 to 5year olds there is a special area devoted to play and fun, again with children of a similar age, and their parents. The resources are carefully chosen to fit with the church context and we hope they enable children to appreciate and enjoy their time in the Toddlers' Group.

The Sunday School
Those over 5 years old - the Sunday School - meet in a separate room from the rest of the church for part of the service during which they have some special teaching and activities to help them make the most of the readings and themes for the week. They may find themselves learning something musical or doing a craft activity. Fun is an important dimension to the life of the Sunday School.

The Youth Group
The St Dunstan's Youth Group is now well established and meets regularly after Mass and at weekends. The Youth Programme is varied, from confidential discussion groups in our own space with crisps and snacks to trips to the theatre, ice skating, pizzas, and our latest big trip to Paris.

The Youth group welcomes members from year 7 upwards and is also on the look out for enthusiastic and energetic helpers.
