Can I play full part in the Church’s liturgy?
St Dunstan’s is a Church of England parish church within the Diocese of London. Christians of all denominations are welcome to take communion if that is there normal practice within their own church community.
Where is the Church?
St Dunstan’s is on Stepney High Street in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. This area is in the heart of London’s East End, just a mile or so to the East of the Tower of London. Can I come to the Church for baptism?
Baptism is one of the most important liturgies in the Christian Church, as we welcome into our community new members at their baptism. At St Dunstan’s baptisms take place regularly, usually in the 10.00am Sunday morning Mass, but they can also take place on a Sunday afternoon. We would be delighted to talk with you if you would like to explore baptism either for yourself or for your children. The best thing to do is to come to the main Parish Mass at 10.00am on any Sunday, and one of the clergy will explain the process to you and help you begin to make the necessary preparations. What do I need to do to be married at St Dunstan’s?
St Dunstan’s has been a place where couples have celebrated Christian marriage for centuries. Many couples come to us each year seeking to begin their married life in this very special, ancient and holy building and to ask God’s blessing on their future life together. If you would like to get married at St Dunstan’s the best thing is to come to the main Parish Mass on Sunday and ask to speak to the Parish Clerk. She will talk to you about the various legal requirements for marriage here, and if you fulfil them, she will take you through the process and make the necessary arrangements. Do please speak to the Parish Clerk or one of the clergy if you would like any further information. How can I get involved?
At St Dunstan’s we are very keen to promote the ministry of the whole baptised community. We all share in the church’s ministry and we are called to participate in that in different ways. If you would like to get more involved in the life of the church and perhaps deepen your interest in a particular area of the life of the church do please speak to one of the clergy, who will be happy to talk to you about this and guide you through the opportunities that are available.
Is St Dunstan’s my parish church?
The parish is bordered by Mile End Road to the North, Commercial Road to the South, Whitechapel Lane to the West and Regent’s Canal to the East. If you live within this Triangle, then St Dunstan’s is probably your parish church.
